This brand new DDPai Mini 5 is DDPai's new 'flagship' dashcam model. It records in super sharp True 4K Ultra HD quality using the Sony Starvis IMX415 8.0MP image sensor. In addition to this image quality, the DDPai is equipped with Wifi, GPS and has 64GB eMMC memory built-in so you no longer need a MicroSD card.
Sony 4K UHS with 8.0MP CMOS sensor
The DDPai Mini 5 records videos in True 4K resolution, which is four times more than FullHD recordings. Despite the super image quality, data consumption remains limited due to the latest H.265 compression technology. Therefore, the MicroSD card is not burdened more than with dashcams of inferior image quality. The image sensor is the Sony Starvis IMX415, known for its excellent performance in the dark.
64GB eMMC internal memory
Unique to this DDPai Mini 5 is the durable and innovative internal 64GB eMMC memory. eMMC (Embedded Multimedia Card) is a new way of file storage where the memory is integrated into the device. With eMMC, no external SD card is needed, and eMMC is also significantly more durable than regular SD cards. According to DDPai, the lifespan using eMMC in this Mini 5 is about ten times longer than that of normal SD cards.
DDPai 5GHz Wifi
This DDPai Mini 5 is equipped with 5GHz Wifi and can be used with the DDPai app. The user-friendly app is easy to operate and can be used to view live or recorded footage and change settings. Any firmware updates can also be conveniently performed via the app. 5GHz ensures the fastest file transfer.
Note: The DDPai Mini 5 does not support 2.4GHz Wifi. Therefore, it is not possible to connect with this dashcam using a phone or tablet that does not support 5GHz.
Built-in GPS
The DDPai Mini 5 has built-in GPS, which records the locations where filming has taken place and displays the current speed at the bottom of the screen. With DDPai's special software, the routes driven can also be viewed on a PC.
Automatic Time Lapse parking mode
The DDPai Mini 5 features a handy automatic parking mode that secures the car when it is parked. The parking mode is automatically activated when no movement is detected for 15 minutes. The parking mode works with Time Lapse, meaning a photo is taken every second, which can later be played back as a sped-up video. The advantage of a parking mode with Time Lapse is that the recordings consume much less data and power than regular recordings. Moreover, people and license plates are still recognizable in the footage.
Note: The parking mode only works in conjunction with the optional DDPai 3-wire or OBD Continuous power supply (see accessories) to provide the dashcam with power when the ignition is off.
Stylish detachable mount
Thanks to the sleek design of this DDPai Mini 5, installation and use of the dashcam are very straightforward. The mount sticks to the windshield and you can easily slide the camera into the mount. Removing the dashcam after driving is therefore a breeze.
Super capacitor battery
The DDPai Mini 5 is equipped with a super capacitor battery. This battery ensures that the camera can shut down properly after a power failure. Super capacitor batteries have been specially developed for use in dashcams because they are more durable than regular Polymer Li-ion batteries and are also better able to withstand high and low temperatures.
ADAS
The ADAS system on this DDPai Mini 5 is an integrated 'Advanced Driver Assistance System'. This system supports the driver while driving in three ways:
FCWS: 'Forward Collision Warning System'. This system warns when approaching a vehicle at high speed. The system, for example, alerts in the event of traffic forming in front of the car. With a good GPS signal, the current speed is known and the camera can make an accurate assessment of the situation around the car.
LDWS: 'Lane Departure Warning System'. When the car is in danger of changing lanes on the highway, the camera can give a signal.
FVSA: 'Forward Vehicle Start Alarm'. Do you sometimes lose focus when sitting at a stoplight? This system gives a warning when a vehicle in front begins to move away, for example, at a stoplight or in traffic.
*The ADAS system performs better on some types of (highways) than on others. For example, narrow roads may lead to the LDWS system triggering an alarm more quickly than on wider roads.
WDR
The DDPai Mini 5 is equipped with WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) to improve image quality. Especially in conditions of very bright or very dim light, WDR ensures that the image quality remains good.
140˚ wide-view lens
This Mini 5 has a 140-degree wide-angle lens. This allows for a very large area to be observed, not just in front of the car but also in the surroundings. With an aspect ratio of 16:10, the field of view is even larger than other dashcams with a ratio of, for example, 3:4.
Auto start
The DDPai Mini 5 dashcam automatically starts recording when the car is started and stops filming when the car is turned off. You don't have to worry about it once it's hanging in the car.
G-sensor
Thanks to the built-in G-sensor, the dashcam detects when you have been in an accident. In the event of an impact, footage is automatically securely saved so they cannot be lost. They cannot be overwritten or deleted via the dashcam.
